Come out and support independent film-making! Florida Film Festival is an annual film festival which takes place at several theaters around in and around the Winter Park area, where the independent cinema industry shows off its latest and best creations. Production of The Forgotten Ones is far from over though. A few remaining scenes will be filmed at locations near the Rollins campus, and post-production will continue for the next several weeks. The movie is expected to premiere on the Rollins campus on April 27th, and will be up on youtube following that. Keep an eye out for us!

This is the Rollins Cares video that was produced this past February by the Rollins Cares team.  Rollins faculty and students are interviewed about the things that they think demonstrates how Rollins cares.

The video was produced Nastassia Alayeto for Rollins Strategic Marketing. It will be running as part of the RTV for the next few weeks, so tune in to Channel 98 and check it out!

The Forgotten Ones is RTV’s feature length Spring Production. Estimated to have a final run time of about an hour, this fan film based in the Star Wars universe is going to be filmed between March 5-12 at Florida Caverns State Park. One of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken by the station, The Forgotten Ones combines the talents of students from across the Rollins community. The finished movie is slated to feature an original sound track composed by members of the Music Department, a representative of the Department of Theatre and Dance lent their hand to costuming, and the Computer Science Department doesn’t realize that it’s hiding a shadowy figure waiting to make his cinematic debut.

We are still searching for interested students who want to take part in the adventure and join the behind the scenes crew who will transform vision into reality. No prior experience with cameras, lighting, editing or digital work is required, although it doesn’t hurt. We will provide the necessary training. As an added bonus, participants will have the opportunity to work alongside specialists in areas such as production makeup and hair, digital effects, and choreographed combat who are volunteering their time to work on the project.

Transportation and lodging expenses will be paid by RTV. Participants will be responsible for bringing their own food and/or food money. Editing and digital effects will be done on campus after the cast and crew returns from Spring Break. If you are interested in helping but cannot come over Spring Break this is an excellent option for you.
